Embroidered Patchwork

Pat bought this somewhere on her way from Arizona to Minnesota in the spring of 2003.   We had asked her to find some textiles that we could hang on our walls at the farm.

Detail

It looks like the embroidery work done in Gujarat and Rajasthan – northwest India.  It uses colored threads and mirrors (shisha).  I think these are probably pieces of old garments which have been cut out and stitched together like a quilt.  Some of the patches are very worn, with broken threads and cracked or missing mirrors.
